One of my long time cake clients from Australia, asked me last month if I could work on some custom baby shower cake toppers for her son and daughter-in-law as they are expecting their 2nd baby in a few more months.
One baby shower theme is Neverland, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. Vanessa gave me an inspiration photo to work from and this is what I created. I made a baby Peter Pan nestled on a baby blanket with stars as well as Tinkerbell hovering over the baby and sprinkling pixie dust over him. This cake topper was quite the challenge for me, but I think it turned out well. I decided this time around since it’s a keepsake for the baby’s room that I would place the whole piece on a wooden platform.
They are also having a 2nd baby shower for family and doing high tea. Vanessa’s daughter-in-law loves penguins so she sent me an inspiration photo of a bunny in a bathtub but asked me to make a penguin vs. a bunny. This one was also a challenge, but I love how it turned out. Again, this one is also a keepsake for the baby’s room so, I also put this one on a wooden platform.
